Develops Character Mush! fRecent activity at J.C.C. outing to Pocano Manor lnnl JUNIOR CIVIC CLUB One of the more recent organizations at Central Dauphin is the Junior Civic Club adopted as a pre-iunior club and sponsored by the Federated Women's Club of Linglestown. Its purpose is to teach proper parliamentary procedure, the fun- damentals of Federation work, and the responsibilities of good club officers and members. The club including the iunior senior branch at Central Dauphin andthe sophomore branch at Central Dauphin East is unique in that it is the only pre- iunior club associated with a school. Important proiects during the year included preparing Thanksgiving baskets for some of the less fortunate families of the area and a trip to the Pocano Mountains. The Central Dauphin J.C.C. officers are: Maria Wood, pres., Karen Krasevic, vice-pres., Francine Plusquellic, sec., and Sandy Fludovich, treas. Miss Donna Hepsmith is the advisor. The Central Dauphin East J.C.C. officers are: Barbara Brought, pres., Frances Raudensky, vice-pres., Irene Rudy, sec., and Judy Ruther- ford, treas. The Spectrum, under The supervision of Miss Bowman, is a comparatively new organization, This is its Third year of existence. Co-editors this year were Cheryl Butterfield and William Seiler. The Spectrum is a literary arts magazine, publishing The finest in poetry, essay, and short story that has been written during The year. lt is open to all classes in The senior high school. Poetry that has been accepted and published by The National High School Association of Poetry is reproduced in This maga- zine, as well as essays that have won in competitive contests during The year. This magazine is compiled and published by The Creative Writing classes. Volunteers from other classes are considered for the staff. l-ll-Y Fosters Christian lcleals A service organization in affiliation with The YMCA, The Hi-Y Club con- sists of 26 junior and senior boys under The direction of W. Ray Kohler, faculty ad- visor.
