The Senior Class lt's almost incredible that we've finally ended our years at Central Dauphin, nevermore to call her hallowed halls home. We do, however, have many mem- ories of these wonderful years to look back on. Time flashes back to 1959 and the beginning of our sophomore year. Our first duty was to elect class officers. Andrew Zimmerman was chosen president, John Fritchey, vice-president, Sue Martin, secretary, Donna Dietrich, treasurer, and Jill Spohn, historian. We were the first class to sell Christmas cards as a class proiect, and we also initiated the Sophomore Party. As juniors we worked diligently. This year's officers were president, Andrew Zimmerman, vice-president, Edward McBreen, secretary, Carole Zimmerman, treas- urer, Maria Wood, and historian, Jill Spohn. On November 18, 1960, we pre- sented our iunior class play Father's Been to Mars, which proved to be the most successful play in the school's history. Another first was the '62 Newsletter, a paper which kept us informed of class news. Several of our classmates were heralded for their achievements, Steve Schrechengaust was nominated to the Big 33, Cheryl Butterfield and Carl Serbell were Merit Scholarship semi-finalists, and Andrew Zimmerman was chosen Student Ambassador to England by the Colonial Park Rotary Club. We also selected our class motto Ducimus Ceteri Sequuntur CWe lead, others follow.J, class colors, gold and white, and class flower, the carnation. The climax of the year was our prom Paradise in the Deep held for the seniors, which was a wonderful ending to a wonderful year. Then, returning as seniors, we were more eager to work. 1961 started per- fectly with an undefeated football season bringing Big 33 nominations to Steve Scheckengaust, Ken Dykes, Tom Haverstock, Meade Johnson, Jerry Angell, and Calvin Ritter. The Christmas dance Winter Fantasy was an unusually exciting and successful evening. Judy Chronister was named Good Citizen by the Daughters of the American Revolution. On March 2, 1962, our senior play Caught in the VilIain's Web was presented. Our prom, given by the juniors, was an event which we will remember for the rest of our lives. Nevertheless, the most important event of our years at Central Dauphin was graduation itself as we entered the world, diplomas in hand, with a promise of success for the future.
