Slotznic. The inexperienced, underclassman tennis team of 1963, coached by Mr. Paul, ended the season with a record of 2 wins and 7 losses. After registering a close victory over Camp Hill, 4-3, the Panthers net-men suffered a series of losses before reaching the winners column again. This victory was another 4-3 squeaker, this time over Hanover. The Panthers closed the season with a 4-1 loss to William Penn. The most consistent point scorers for East were Wayne Maxwell and Joe Goldsmith, both sophomores, who formed a doubles team midway through the season. Joe was top scorer for the team and top player oftheleague, being undefeated in league competition. At the close of the season, Joe represented East at the District 3 Tennis Tournaments where he was defeated in the semi-finals. With an experienced team of lettermen re- turning this spring, the tennis team is certain to improve its record of 1963.
