Please don't smash my hair! I X x X Preludes Fro May Day 1963 saw East High auditorium transformed into a court befitting royalty. The Queens of the May and their courts reigned over the fes- tivities, featuring the Royal Pro- cession and talent acts. Queen of the May for ninth grade was Peggy Hawthorne. In the tenth grade court were Judilvlilokavic, Bonnie McCollum, and Barb Humphreys. Queen of the May for East Senior High was Pat Hummel. Cheryl Gill, Lou Waltman, and Merrily Creznic were in the eleventh grade court. Pat Hummel again was a Queen of East when she reigned as Miss Central Dauphin East at the 1963 Youth Festival. Pat, and her escort Tom Shatto, were a stunning couple as they participated in the pro- cession of queens. rf X It's only Reigning smiles. 'om Now, when I'm a senior . . . . . .

As students enjoy an assembly they are unaware of the work done by Mr. Louis Reda and his stage and lighting crews. The stage crew pre- pares the stage and equipment to be used in the program. The lighting crew works with the participant to determine the proper lighting. The busiest times for these crews come during the production of the school plays. The boys of the stage crew are responsible for the making and painting of the scenery and the props. 1 2-a i . ' s Q, tri 2 ii ,E sz ti 4 Stage Crew ,- K, Meloy, B.
