Let's go girls! Under the guidance of Miss Rita Schwaderer, East High's hockey team has completed its second season of interscholastic competition. Despite the lack of experience, the girls gained a record of 2 wins, 2 ties, and51osses. The most impressive win was over Central Dauphin with a 2-0 score. Led by co-captains Carol Erb and Carol McQuiikin, the team fought to suppress its opponents. Although their record was not outstanding, the girls gained valuable experience which will benefit them in future years. The J.V. team, captained by Anita Tarasi and Sue Pochyba, compiled a 1 - 2 - 6 record. These girls were impressive in their first season of competition and will be a great asset to next year's varsity team. Our Hockey Team 1 . In Action Sandy Markunas Kathy Buffington Kathy Snyder

In this, their second year of competition, the girls posted a season record of 8 wins and 5 losses. This does not tell the entire story, however, for the girls Came within a point of tying for first place in the Lower Susquehanna Conference. Meeting Cedar Cliff in a battle f . . or first place honors, the East girls played a determined game only to lose in the final minutes, 32-31. At Play Day held at Cumberland Valley, East was the only team to place two girls on the all-conference team. These girls were Sue Forker and Jody Dzink. Carol McQuilkin was on the second team. During this all-conference game, Sue Forker was chosen as the outstanding player on the team.
