And then met their first defeat of the season in the first round of the district tournament, when they were beaten by Breda by the score of 6 to N. In one game during the season Central and Waukee played a 0 to 0 10 inning game. Jim Bose was the leading hitter with an average of .N67, he also hit four home runs. Ron Glenn was second with an average of .393, and Jim Thompson third with an average of .32k. Wayne Taylor had the only other home runsK20. Jim Bose, Ben Fox, Jim Thompson, and Wayne Taylor shared the pitching honors for Central Dallas. They opened the spring season with a 5-2 defeat to Rippey, and then won the next three games, beating DeSoto 7-39 Van Meter 1-O and Grimes 17-3. They lost the next one to Adel by the score of 13-5. So far this season Ron Glenn has hit two home runs and Ben Fox 1. Ben has won 2 and lost 2 while Jim has lost 1 and lost 0. Bob Rittige and Larry Crannell also have seen some act1on.on the mound. 34

The spring schedule was interrupted by bad weather and many games were canceled. Judy Hayes proved her capability with a bot by her 583 batting average.
