The leading scorer was Ben Fox with 530 pts or a game average of 20.4 Next was Jim Bose with 383 points FORWARD Paul Scott for a 14.3 average. Tim JiTk?gSe was third with 365 points for a 13.5 average. Ben Fox led the field goal shooters hitting on 227 out of 429 attempts for 52.91. Paul Scott was next with 83 out of 165 for 50.35. Tim Hinchliff was third with 102 out of 161 for 48.35. In free throw percentage Tim Hinchliff led with 43 out of 60 for 71.75. Jim Thompson was second with 36 out of 53 for 67.91. Third was Ben Fox with 76 out of 122 for 62.35. The leading rebounder was Ben Fox with 397, next was Tim Hinchliff with 198. and third was Paul Scott with 169. Front Rows Larry Crannell, Jim Thompson, Jim Bose, Pat Ingram, Dick Welch, Roger Thompson. The Central Dallas Boys Basketball team, in their first year together had a 26-1 record. Their only loss was to College Springs in the first round of the State Tournament by a score of 63 to 61 in an overtime ball game played at Wiota. They were the champions of the Central Seven Conference as well as the Dallas County, the Sectional and the District tournaments. They scored a total of 2002 points for a 74.1 point average. Their opponents scored a total of 1011 goints for a 37.4 point average. Thel hit 843 field goals out of 1 72 shots for 451, compared with 26. 1 for their op onents. They hit 316 free throws out of 586 attempts for 53.91pwh1le their opponents hit 52.5f. The team started the season at Waukee with the Conference Jamboree. Mrs. Nancy Downs was the chaperone with Carol Scott and Judy Stevens serving as managers. Carol Fox was high scorer with a total of 357 points. Mary Welch and Linda Susich were chosen as co-captains of the year. The team gained third place title in the sectional tournament.
