Faculty members join with me in expressing the hope that our learning together during these years has made our lives rich and meaningful. In addition to the knowledge which you have acquired in your classes, you have formed many new friendships. This Dial will serve as a record of these pleasant associations which you have made during your college career. As you refer to this record in the future, the pictures will enable you to recall many interesting incidents of your college life. These fond memories will even comfort you in the sunset of life. You will complete your college preparation at the close of our Cen- tennial year. It was just 100 years ago that our doors were opened to the flrst class of students who were interested in preparing for teaching As one reads the history of the College during the past century, he is immed iately impressed with the efforts and sacrifices of its officers, teachers and students in establishing the institution on a firm an lasting founda tiOD.o What of the future of the college? In view of the ever increasing demands for new teachers and for teachers who are more adequately prepared to meet the requirements of a complex civilization, it seems apparent that the College must expand its facilities and services in the years ahead It is not outside the realm of possibility to look forward to the time when many new buildings will be added and a larger student body will be accomo- dated under satisfactory working conditions In this way, and in th1s way only, will your Alma Mater be in a position to render its most effective service.
