wsfhfzfk jfksxzzge To the Class of 1947: Hearty congratulations upon the completion of your college training. You have received your education during a war and a postwar period, and you are to be commended for continuing your studies during such difficult times. College enrollments have increased to a considerable extent during the past year and, to this, our college has been no exception. Our enrollment of full-time students this year exceeds one thousand, which is three times our planned capacity. Temporary classroom and housing facilities have been acquired, and the faculty has been augmented by the addition of approximately thirty members. Other changes will be made in the near future in order to admit even larger numbers of students. We hear much today about universal and everlasting peace. Education can and should be the most important factor employed toward this end. It involves, among other things, the creation of a desire for world order and cooperative action by the people of all nations. You have a grave responsibility for making a vital contribution to the enduring peace which must follow these times of uncertainty. You are about to enter one of the noblest of all professions-teaching. May you fully appreciate the honor and the responsibilities which are now yours. May service to God and youth ever be uppermost in your minds and hearts and may your efforts be appreciated by those whom it is your privilege to guide. Sincerely yours, HERBERT D. WELTE, Prefidenz, Teachers College of Connecticut, New Britain. T l A
