LCDCDKING Tl-IRGUGI-I Vivid memories of the years at TCC remain . our minds, some good, some bad, some indifferent. Among the most prominent are those of the faculty. Like most freshmen we entered the halls of old Alma Mater with shy, retiring steps, little knowing what was in store, but fearing the worst. After registration, we wandered blindly trying to find the room where our first class was to be held. There was a sympathetic look on the faces of fellow sufferers who had found the class before half of the period was over, but the look on the face of the professor was one of resignation, per- haps this thought was running through his mind, man works from sun to sun, but a professor's work is never done. 1 For the first year, I hate freshmen, and Oh, you poor benighted creatures rang in our ears and haunted us, but by our sophomore year when the stale freshman air of our class had escaped into the court, we found that the faculty was beginning to appear human. Not that we hadn't begun to see evidences of the human qualities of the profs before our sophomore year! Some of us swooned when We saw Mr. Perry Che's back now underclassmenl, and Dr. Rackley's crew cut and piercing blue eyes--if we could only whistle on paper Csighll It was through a faculty member that we first found the college den of iniquity, the lounge. Some of us shadowed Dr. Iohnson into a smoke- filled room. There, while we became accustomed to the atmosphere, he played setback. Card playing was not the only sport in which the faculty indulged, we all remember our first .glimpse of Miss Morton-she was carrying golf clubs. A big feature in the TCC sport world was Coach Flash Gordon Kaiser. We remember how he took the men out on the field, showed them a ball, this here's a ball fellows, and this here's a field, the object ' of the game is . . Fellows-remember, 565 'G our first years here, there were men. But Q A E to get backto the facu1ty.That same sport H A p field was the scene of a very exciting :Wa event in our junior year. The senior ele- qg mentary class was playing a friendly dj game of Fox and Geese when Miss Col- N ton, a former member of the physical education department, and one of the X students suffered minor brain concus- sions. Both recovered. 1 For the Latin, see Dr. Fowler.
