I have often wondered why It IS so hard for me to get up 1n the mornmg Why should I w1sh to stay ln bed unt1l the last mmutel I once asked a frxend of m1ne to solve th1s problem for me and he said that the seat of my trouble was the manner 1n whlch I was awak ened He adv1sed me to buy a good alarm clock and said that lf I were awakened suddenly and regularly every mornmg the hablt of wlshmg to stay 1n bed could be easlly overcome I bought the clock and used rt but wlthout success If I put lt close to my bed at n1ght I would reach out the next mornmg and stop the alarm when lt rang and then go peacefully back to sleep On the other hand lf I put It out of reach I would l1e stlll 1n bed and walt patlently for the spring to unwmd ltself It makes no dlfference what season of the year It IS I always get up late In the wmter the bed IS warm and the room IS cold Why should I suddenly change from the warm and comfortable to the cold and un comfortableq And 1n the summer how cool and comfortable It IS to l1e ln bed with just a suggestlon of a breeze blowmg across my face wh1le the fierce sun IS Shlfllflg on the hot humxd world outslde Dante would have us beheve that lost souls are eifectlvely pumshed by such sudden changes ln temperature as these Then w1ll you please tell me why I should mtentlonally suffer th1s punlshment before dymg' Bzrute Setzkas Sfood or Th vuglat Food IS my downfall' Slnce I am a Centrallte thrs obsesslon rs par tlcularly depressmg Our huge lunch perlod rs mne minutes' Now I ask you how can a normal average eating 1nd1v1dual be expected 1n that txme to consume all the calories necessary to l1ve the day out'7 It IS yust my luck th1s term to be seated 1n the front of all my classes whlch naturally krlls any opportunnty for sneakmg a snack Actually though lt lsnt really sneakmg Is It man s fault that he must be supplled w1th food'? Why IS lt that some systematlc narrow mmded people mslst on eatmg at certam hours Varnety IS the spxce of llfe I say lf you re hungry EAT It s very embarrassmg to be hungry and quletly n1bbl1ng on somethmg and then to have some teacher bellow This IS not your lunch perlod I was slowly dymg of hunger ln the AUdlIOflUm I was slyly pulllng out a brte to eat when I was dlscovered and grven a look of stern dlsapproval They wrll all be sorry some day when they Hnd a heap of bones whlch will be all that rs left of me To solve these food problems I suggest a food cart assocratlon be orgamzed Thls could be pushed around to famlshed students I wrll gladly donate to support thls cause Some day lt mlght grow to a fine mstltutronl THE BOARD OF ED PORTABLE CARTS Just thmk of the thousands of healthy students who wxll be the result of th1s Eat as you re hungry campaxgn Thus w1ll naturally lead to better health records less absences brighter and more alert puplls and finally better happier and fatter crtlzens of tomorrow Dorothy Kennet Y' Z ' 1 - z: . ....
