We We e Here Situated on -12nd Street between Second and Third Avenues there stands a low red building with bold letters bearing the title ot' Central Commercial. Central is not just another school: within her walls the boys and girls are being trained so that they may be able to carry their training out into the business world with the knowledge and assurance they need to make them successful business men and women. Central's many detailed business courses. its many classrooms tilled with all types of strange and interesting-looking machines. the business-like atti- tude of the teachers and the pupils made us realize this more and more as the days passed. Many of us were very surprised to learn that we attended the largest commercial school in the country. and that it was the only high school with a dentist on the premises. Central olfers its students complete training in dental assistance and dental mechanics. At Central. while you are learning, you have the wonderful opportunity of getting actual experi- ence in the lield of your choice. The employment department places students in part-time jobs in their chosen tield. When the students are in their senior year. they are assigned to school ollices. such as the bookkeep- ing. stenography. academic. and attendance ollices for two-week training periods where they acquire a knowledge of business affairs. Students work in the school store and tloristry shop where they are given the opportunity to wait on customers. and thus learn
