I CENTRAL COLUMBIA COUNTY JOINT HIGH SCHOOL ESPY, PENNSYLVANIA 99 DEDICATIQ In the years that have passed since we have entered these portals and the time now as we are about to leave, the people who have added to our lives are many. We know we cannot in the course of the years to come repay them fully for what they have given us. We wish, therefore, to thank them all. But the one group of people who have helped us through the trying times, had faith in us feven when they were doubtful of our soundness of reasonj, sighed with pride and amazement when people said, What a nice child you have, we owe more thanks to than others. They were very patient and very loyal. They eased all pains and did their best to protect us from the cruelties of the world. They comforted us through all disappointments and eased all pains in order that we might have a happier life. These people, too, will continue to help, comfort, and reassure us long after we have been forgotten by our beloved halls of learning. We are proud that they welcome us to become one of them, and with sighs of relief let us take over their jobs and duties, although tearful that we had to grow old and no longer need them as we did when we first entered here. This group of people we thank from the bottom of our hearts, and in deepest gratitude dedicate our yearbook to them--QUR PARENTS. 5' H tm, Nihklgpfhikr nn-ev ' ,V N., E. ,,. ,, 1,1 ....V.. I - myamv : A r V A K 'dfhuwqquhueatudmmtgw x MESSAGES FRGM SENIORS: You should be very proud as you graduate this year. It is a privilege and an honor to graduate from High School and doubly so for you, for you are the second group to graduate from Central Columbia County Joint Schools. The pride you feel now will grow with each passing year. I hope that you will always have a strong loyalty to the school. I am certain that your class will prove themselves individually in the world of today. You have had the advantages of twelve years of education, the richest of all advantages. Don't lay this education aside, but rather make it work for you. There has never been a greater promise of opportunity, but remember it doesn't appear packaged and tied with a pretty ribbon. Op- portunity is where you find it, and when it is found, use it We will miss you and we look forward to your re- turn, so come and visit with us often. Donald N. Rishe Supervising Principal of High School ADMINISTRATIC TO THE CLASS OF 1958: When a school group enters into its senior year, it begins to show its quality and worth. Yours is a class of promise. It has good leadership, fine loyalty, great enthusiasm. With this combination I feel that every one of you is ready to accept full responsibility to promote both the best interest of Central High School along with the general welfare of your community. To every member of the class I offer my congratu- lations. Marion T. Adams Supervising Principal SENIORS: You are now reaching one stage of your life, that being graduation from high school. I believe that our schools have done a good job in preparing you to take your rightful place in society. It is my hope and wish that your education not stop at this time, because the job of earning a living is be- coming more and more a competitive process. The chances of success in any job you undertake will be directly related to the way in which you have prepared yourself. Wherever you make your home in later life, be sure that you respect the rights of your neighbor, and be a good citizen--and then happiness and success will be yours. Sincerely yours, Elfed H. Jones Elementary Supervisor GREETINGS TO THE CLASS OF 1958: I sincerely hope your 'days at Central High have given you the ability and desire to give to life the best that you can. Use common sense at all times in the ap- plication of the principles learned in the last years of your education. Be honest and upright, loyal to your country, your church, your family, your friends and yourself. One of the best ways to be happy and to reduce your problems is to extend your heart and mind into the problems of others and help them. My congratulations to the Yearbook Staff and their advisor and as you look through the pages of this book, I hope that you will recall happy and pleasant memories. I wish you continued success in the future. Sincerely, Hester L. Bowman 4 BOARD OF EDLICATIO Ann.. LEFT to RIGHT: Richard C. Megargel, Secretary, Harold Richenderfer, Treasurer, John C. SENIOR CLASS POEM Oft' times we sit and reminisce Of days and years gone by. Those happy mem'ries all have passed, Although we wonder why. We're ever pressing forward Along the turns of life. For every day we meet new goals, Which makes it worth our strife. We are coming to the close Of years of preparation. We'll finish all our carefree days When we have our graduation.
