tf-osiew ui. yHIS publication is dedicated to the graduating students for the year 1944-45 of Central Collegiate Institute. Perhaps there are many who feel that they have completed their education. Graduating from High School is indeed an important milestone in a person’s life, but at the same time there are many much more important milestones ahead. In the field of education one must realize that even after High School it takes from eight to ten years to obtain a Ph.D. degree. If you go on to Uni¬ versity you will begin to realize how big a field lies before you. There are many things which have to be discovered, and there are many things that are dis¬ covered concerning which we know very little. In this highly specialized life it is essential that one obtain a higher edu¬ cation, and perhaps do some research in some psychology or science that will lead to the discovery of some information which will be of benefit to the world at large. Furthermore, one needs a very good education to enter this complex world and meet its problems, its successes and its failures. We have just completed a second phase of the World War Two. One more phase to go. But even after the third phase has been completed, what will we: have achieved? The achievement that we obtain at that time, whatever it may be, will depend to a large extent upon the intelligence and foresight of those forming the Peace Treaties, and what is more impor¬ tant, the understanding of the people that will compose the world in the next thirty or forty years. If these people have not got the understanding and the patience then undoubtedly we will be in another world war. Consequently, it is the duty of this graduating class to obtain as much understanding as they can and go forward with good hearts and good understanding to do what they can to contribute to the general good will and peace of this earth. —N.
