FINALISTS The coronation banquet was on October 8th, in the Graham Dining Hall. The theme for the banquet was Dinner at the Captain's Table and the food reflected the theme. The menu included Chicken Kiev, wild rice, cauliflower with cheese sauce, green beans, hot rolls, and cheesecake for dessert. The emcees for the evening were Drs. Don and Maxine Huffman. Carol Winter, escorted by Tony Valainis, was crowned by last year's queen, Laine Lundy Korver. Her court consisted of Lorie Christie escorted by Tony Mineart, Maureen Friskey escorted by Paul Tanis, Lisa Hagen escorted by Jeff Ver- hoef, and Cindi Fisher Korver escorted by Karl Korver. The theme, Adventures on the Delta Queen, was carried out by the southern style dresses of the candidates, and the formal attire of the escorts which resembled Fthett Butler. Carol said that her first emotions were like some- one letting the bottom out of a drop door.! She went on to say that being queen is a great honor and she has learned a lot about herself and other people. Carol feels that the many Homecoming activities are valuable and students should get involved in the FUN to get to know others. For Carol being the reigning queen is like living a fantasy, looking through rose colored gIasses. Q
