It has grown both in the quantity and quality of faculty and students: many new academic programs have been established: and new campus facilities have be- come a reality. Even in the past year, horizons have been visibly broadened: chapel is no longer compulsory: a new grading system has been approved: we have been awarded a large government grant to improve teaching in the sciences: student participation on important administrative committees have been approved: policies concerning dramatic productions have been liberalized: and new curricular and non-curricular programs have been established. This is to name only a few of the changes we have witnessed this 1967-68 school year. Through its willingness to experiment and to make changes where they are needed, Central is rapidly becoming a leader among small college liberal arts institutions. Three men are principally responsible for this change - President Lubbers, Dean Graham and Vice-Presi- dent Thompson. It is with sincere pride and gratitude that we dedicate this yearbook to these men. Under their leadership, with their understanding, and through their courage to experiment Central will continue to explore and develop the full potentials of higher education. A special note of thanks goes to lay- out editor Sandi Oldenkamp. She gave tire- lessly of her time and energy in assisting in virtually every aspect of this book. Iam especially indebted to her for her work on layouts and in giving up part of her summer vacation to work. e.g. Aalbers, Gerald 63 Aalbers, Richard 28, 112 Aalberts, Janice 103, 107,112 Aalpoel,
