CLASS SPONSORS: Mr. Scott Malcolm, Mrs, Barbara Seoley, How Times Hove Changed By Patti Schonk At time marches on, we often pouse at certain inter- vals to glance back. We are proud of what we hove inherited from 1885 to the present, and we dedicate this portion of our annual to the post. The original high school was built in 1885 where the present elementary building is, with the first graduating class being in 1886. No extrocurriculor oc- tivities were offered at this time, and emphasis was placed on ancient languages and mathematics. The school colors were not always the current green and gold that we are fomilior with, but began 05 old rose and green. This combination was used until the lore 1930's, when the colors kelly green and white were introduced. in about 1965, the bond bought new uniforms that went to o dorker green and white, with 0 gold broid. Since then, the colors have evolved to gold being the more predominont color. School colors were not the only thing that separated the early Bison yeors from the present. The graduating class of 1886 contained only three students, compared to this year's senior class of 80 students. Only three high school grades were offered until 1898, when twelfth grade was added. Athletics began to take 0 big port in CCHS in 1908, centering on track, Girls participated in most events. In 1913, the first indoor sport, bosketboil, was added. Continued on Page 19
