The royalty activities began with the escorting of the queen candidates, seated in sparkling cor- vettes. driven to the front of the stadium. The king candidates then escorted them to the royalty ramp. Scott Johnson. and Karla Oberle, 1979 king and queen, were on hand to present Matt Bolling with the king's crown, and Teri Malm with the queen's crown. First attendants named were Kris Grosshans, and Candace Scheer, and second attendants were Darryl Stephens, and Theresa Lanzendorf. The Senior High band put on a good show at half time. They were responsible for adding a lot of pep to the homecoming activities. Homecoming spirit was really evident as it started off with a big boom at the bonfire, Thurs- day night at Patterson Field. The cheerleaders and pep band performed at the pep rally which was held in the old Jim's market parking lot. The varsity boys played hard and tough, but were unsuccessful for a win. Albion shut us out by one touchdown. The final score being Albion 14. Central City 7. The homecoming dance was held in the gym after the homecoming game. Glen Eppley was the DJ from Complete Music. Although it has been several years, our memories still remind us of what a wonderful boy Scott was. He had many abilities and displayed them well. He was active in sports and also in many other school activities. sg . econ PULLEN MEMORIES ARE TREASURES OF THE HEART All the treasures of the kings and all the gold on earth Could not begin to equal what our memories are worth. Remembering together-times can warm a lonely day, And thoughts of summer afternoons take winter's chill away. Lovely memories linger on of moments left behind, And rain will seldom come to those with rainbows on their mind. And when life seems to get us down. the thing that sees us through ls thinking of the ones we love and those who love us, too. JFF is Just For Fun, and thatts just what they have! JFF is an organization in which students learn to put away athletics and academics, and learn how to sociably live with one another. October started them off with a picnic at North Park and games afterwards November was busy with the annual money making project. This year the JFF had boxes of items and each member sold from their own box. It was a delightful idea and profitable. too. They joined together one eve- ning to box up their projects. and had a make- your-own submarine sandwich supper. They also played charades. The Christmas season invited them to go carol- ing to the senior citizens of the community. Mrs. Williams served lunch in her home following. Carolyn King Freshmen, Rep. Linda Shelton Sophomore, Rep. A Pizza Hut supper was held in January. Fol- lowing the feast, the members went as a group to a girl's basketball game. In February, the JFF members hosted a break- fast for school personnel. Throughout the year the members had little breakfast get togethers with their friends. In March the members hosted a bowling party with pizza afterwards. A progressive dinner was held in April with salad at Jacque Krance's; main dish at Darla Paulsen's and desert at the Hendricks. The last month of school was time for parents, as the members hosted a pot-luck dinner for them. Celia Cortez, foreign exchange student, was the guest speaker for the evening. 85 a MM MUSIC 1 .
