Our first foreign exchange student was Matthias Mascher from Einbeck, Ger- many, Matt is a member of the junior class at CCSH. After returning to Germany, and finishing his high school work there, he wishes to continue his education and become a teacher. Matt's new home in America is with Mr, and Mrs. Dwaine Van Pelt and family of Archer, CCSHis Exchange Students Eduardo Jose Gontijo Tostes came to CCSH during the second semester of his senior year. His home is Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in Brazil, He has three sisters and two brothers, After graduating from high school, Eduardo hopes to go into medical school in Brazil and become a physician. Xx ' i 95 x. he B r u c 6 John Butt, 3 member of the Senior class of CCHS, was born August 18, 1951 in Central City. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Butt. He was an active mem- ber of the Thespians, the CC Club, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and the Walther League. Bruce died January 15, 1969 in a two-car crash east of Central City on High- way 30. Funeral services were Saturday, January 18, 1969 at the St. Paul's Lu- theran Church in Central City. In Memoriam born September 28, 1950 in Grand Island. He was the son of Bob R. Anderson and Betty Sumovich. He came to Central City to make his home with his grandmother, Mrs. I. D. Meyer, and to attend school here. Robin died January 15, 1969 in a two-car crash. Funeral services were at St. Michael's Catholic Church, January 18, 1969, in Central City. Douglas R. Gissler was born January 25, 1951 at Osceola, Nebraska. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Gissler. Doug was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, serving as president of the Luther League. He was an active par- ticipant in student affairs; participating in the music, dramatic, and athletic pro- grams of the school. Doug lost his life in a drowning accident on Senior Sneak day at Johnson Lake at Lexington, Nebraska on May 12, 1969. Funeral services were held from the Grace Lutheran Church, and the Central City Senior High School on May 15, 1969.
