He attended elementary school in Chapman and was a sophomore in Central City High School. Afine athlete, he participated in football, basketball, and golf. He was a member of the Chapman Methodist church, active in the Methodist Youth Fellowship and the high school Sunday school class. Rex was fatally injured Tuesday, April 18, 1967, when the car in which he was riding, went out of control and overturned. Burial was Friday, April 21, 1967, at Chapman.
