The Class of '64 presented a play by a Nebraska playwright on the evening of November 16. This play was Romantic BX Request; the playwright was Ahlene Fitch of Elmwood, Nebraska. Tim Bond, as Reuben Field, was not romantic enough to please Sarah Hardy aackie Fleming. However, country rubes can also have their day; and Reuben's day conquered Sarah's for he demon- strated through the trickery of Harold Means marold Chaden and Dorothy Lee Uackie Kortumt that romance isn't everything. Reuben's grandmother, Gloria Rudolf, and four visitors at the motel, Jean Stevens Oudy P050, Dorothy Hickman Gan Mattsom, and Teddy and Billie Johnson tCazole Neustrom and Marilyn Smitm kept things lively throughout the show. As an added attraction Marcia Krug, Jan Hansen, Kathy Gregg, Linda Kucera, Karen Hanxe, and Jim Kohtz presented a one- act play, Aunt Beth Reacts. by Jean Casselman. Melvin E. Zichek, the director, spoke highly of both casts and productions. '0 e0

Ls, 1 x . .J j..- - .. f ,3 swaths Paag Back to the Roaring Twenties and the drama of that day! Such was the theme of the senior class dramatic program. Three very different plays were presented April 19,1963. Fourteen, a one act play of literary value, The Wrong Babx. an old one act farce, and At the Sign of the Pewter Jug, a 3-act comedy of fun and pleasure, made up the program. Even a monologue of the period, The Cheerful Laundress, was thrown in for good measure. With this program the Class of '63 proved that drama of forty years ago can be just as interesting and as much fun as the modern material. Karol Kramer, Gerry Widman, Gloria Johnson, Judy Nitzel, Linda Chadwick, Larry Johannes, Duane Drummond, Ron Ferris, Bill Peterson, Joe Glynn, and Shannon Zichek made up the cast in the three act production while Becky Yocom, Merlene Good, Martha Willhoft, Carol Larson, Mary Stuart, Janet Long- sine, Janelle Erb, Diane Miller, Karen Hoback,And1'ea Knight, and LaVerna Suck acted in the one- act plays. Gail Larsen gave the monologue. A good crowd was delighted by the program. and this show was responsible for the senior gift to the school, a lovely walnut speaker's stand. The director, Mr. Zichek, had nice things to say about the class and the show, testifying to our success. 30
