These two girls were portrayed by Joanne Broom and Karen Judah. Ladd Reeves, the anxious father, and Carol Bolling, the concerned aunt, try to stabilize the girls at home and abroad. Galynn Ferris and Tom Larsen happened to be the husbands secured. Carol Channing and Mari- lyn Monroe played leading roles in this production on Broadway and in the movies. The play was ex- ceptionally well received in the local community. 23

Bodeman Sponsor, Mr. Zichek gamboooppzwwxasw 09 The National Thespian Society with headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, granted charter 959 to the Central City High School, December 27. 1960. This was a record of achievement for the dramatic: department of our high school. Twenty members of the class of '61 made up the charter r011 having earned 10 or more points in dramatic Showmanship with either stage or backstage work. The official initiation for these twenty persons was held on the evening of March 24, 1961. Following the production of The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, 33 additional members were initiated at the annual banquet on May 18, 1961. The National Thespian Society is dedicated to the advancement of the various forms of theatrical arts in the secondary schools. It was established in 1929 and is composed of troupes in schools throughout the country. It is an honorary organization only in the sense that students are given recognition for having met certain standards and requirements. The motto is. Act well your part; there all the honor lies. Mem- bership comes to anyone who has earned 10 points according to a national rating scale. Upon receiving 20 points one becomes a one-star Thespian, and can reach the coveted rank of an Honor Thespian with the earning of 60 points. Chgspialxzs 25
