Sophomore Class- In spite of there being an even number of girls and boys in the Sophomore Class. the members chose an all male cabineto Jack Avery was elected President; Harold Scholl, Vice-President; Gerald Heying, Secretary; Gary Johnson, Treasurer. At mid- term, Katherine Strasburg was elected President and Dick Sinsel, Treasurer to replace the two members who moved away, Mr. Forrest Christensen was chosen as class sponsor. Sophomores were active in all extra-curricular activities. Don Galusha, Harold Scholl, Galen Nelsen, Jerry Heying, Jim Gillan, David Jones, Corwin Roscoe all lettered in football. Harold Scholl, Dick Sinsel, Kenny Rankin, Galen Nelsen; Jim Ellenwood were on the first squad in basketballo In track, Corwin Roscoe, Galen Nelsen, Harold Scholl, Wendell Faeh, Don Galusha, Dick Rogers, David Jones lettered as Freshmen. ' Many were members of choir and glee and band with Joyce Ross, Fern Blauhorn and Jean Kyes in triple trio; Katherine Strasburg, Reta Steuben, Jean Kyes, Jean Riblett, Clyde Sachtleben, Phyllis Best in small instrumental groups. The Sophomores also took part in Pep Club, Y-teens, Fa F. Au, Hi-Y, and G. A. A. They planned two projects; the first was a party to be given in the spring and the other was the saving of their class dues for next year's Junior-Senior Banqueto 26
