WEISS ?Qmp hwy In the year 1950 fourty-rive seniors were given their freedom and sent on i their way after four years or being slaves to the teachers of Central City High ' school. They received their muoh-worhed-for diplomas and each went his separate way. Little did they know where these paths would lead and only after a span of - ten years can One tell what has happened. Now in 1960 in my home in the large city of Worms where a National Convention ; 13 being held, we four gad-about ladies sit talking. One has suggested that we ; go to the local theater and see the movie showing. Following up the suggestion, we grab our coats and we're off like a herd of turtles. Walking down to the L theater we meet Captain John Edgar, who is on leave and. is at the time, going k :6 the high school to address the student body on The Rewards of Being studioud' As we walk into the lobby, whom should we see at the popcorn machine but Bar- bare Tooley; but now she's popping Jensen's popcorn. When buying our tickets, we ' are astonished to see Don Sampson selling tickets because we thought he hadhigh- 1 er ambitions than this. Or does he own the theater? Glancing into the managefs 1 office, we see his very efficient secretary, Lena Mae Heald, typing like mad. ; Various billboards in the lobby read: : Try outs for parts in the broadway musical, The Blue Eyed Sheik , are Monday ; at 9:00. Report to Manager Ned Hedges. Girls must have big, brown eyes. L Under coming attraction in large letters was: Killer Currey , World's Greatest Wrestler since defeating Qbrgeous George, appears in person March 19th. sauntering further into the lobby,we look over in the corner and see seatedon ,7 a couch, deeply engrossed in a Women's Home tCompanion , Betty Carlson, still patiently waiting for Norman R. to graduate from the University. Just as we sit down, we notice Betty Stanislav and her husband;they have come to the show to relax after a long day's work on their farm in Central City. Even in the advertisements we recognize many people who had graduated with us. f Beverly Rose has designed a new Ford and is really making a career for herself. Duane Campbell is advertising Desch Monuments and Beverly Graham is singing a- bout these wonderful Cohagen Groceries. The great real estate agent, Frank Har- low,is still interested in Land. As a newscast flashes on the screen, we catch a glimpse of Barbara Norgard, private secretary to the head of the Stratman Cattle Raising Association. Well, ; here in Coach D101: Ghlusha who has succeeded in hating the first undefeated girls' 1, softball team. Oh, look! There's the wedding or the year: Glenn Nelson is pull- ? ing Iris Ferris down the isle, and the Reverend Bob Condon is standing patiently waiting to perform the ceremony, Ah! a flash of the Metropolitan Opera. Such famous stars as Mrs. Jocelyn Chandler and Mrs. Vivian Anderson are being reveal- ed. Now a glimpse of the sports world: Johnny Tober kayoes Toughie Malone and wins the National Boxing Championship or the year. Yea-a-a! Now comes the part every one seems to enjoynthe cartoon. Walt Disney is now unemployed. because Paul Grossnichlaus has taken over the part of Donald Duck, and EugenelPost and. Edgar Rasmussen tag along as Huey and Duey; but we wonder what has become of Louie. Since the comedy is over, we can take off our shoes and relax while we wait L. for the first feature to begin. Ahh--it has Just started, and it is Me and Pa , ;' gtairin? Harilyn Travis as Ma Williamson. The picture is directed by Mr. and Mrs. ; ue ur t he former Doris Rutherfordt.
