f Vigil 1970 Central Catholic High School 4824 West Tuscarawas Canton, Ohio Very Rev. Robert C. Fannon Administrator and Principal Central Catholic High School 1958-1969 In Dedication . . . For eleven years Monsignor Fannon has served Central Catholic. As adminis- trator-Spiritual Director of Central, Monsignor made daily Mass and the sacra- ments available to the student body and added personal guidance to the educa- tional-vocational curriculum. Under his guidance as principal, new techniques were encouraged,—special- ized courses of study for every subject in the curriculum were adopted, audio- visual materials equipped every classroom, and developmental reading programs were introduced. Also, many physical improvements have developed in the various departments, and even in the faculty lounge. But, the list of contribu- tions made by Monsignor is endless. This past year, Monsignor Fannon left Central Catholic to take the position of Vicar of Religious for the Diocese of Youngstown. As the Class of '70 leaves Central, it recognizes the man who has guided them through their high school years. Monsignor's untiring work for the im- provement of Central Catholic and the betterment of each of us will never be forgotten. Christmas was so special that even Father Dubick added to our joy! 23 24 — A Time For Us, the Class of '70, came alive at the Onesto Hotel on Saturday evening. May 23. Happiness is a Sen- ior Prom. As the graduation ceremonies began the Class of '70 held mixed emotions. During our four years at Central we developed not only a physical unity, but more im- portantly a deep, inner unity -with one another. Here's to our first class reunion! To the Class of '70: Looking back on our years at CCHS, it doesn't seem possible that four years actually have gone by. Our senior year seemed to be the most memorable be- cause of the events it held. We can re- member the wonderful times we had at our dances, games and other school ac- tivities. Variations in our daily school life were made through the N. Y. The- ater Co.'s production of A Thousand Clowns, our Social Studies trip to Colum- bus, and a talk of the actual experiences of Miss Fisher, drug addict. As the class of '70, we can remember wonderful years and find that the build- ing isn't quite as large as it once seemed; our Sisters now look quite natural in their modern dress; and, we have gathered many to us that we now call Friends. We have experienced victories and de- feats in our athletic endeavors, shared our joys and sorrows, had our good times and bad times—and have loved every minute of it! We are going to miss CCHS and all it has done to us and for us. Our hearts will always skip a beat when we hear its name or the Alma Mater. We shall always be grateful for having had four won- derful years at Central Catholic High School. It is the hope of the VIGIL staff to have captured in these pages some of the spirit—the pain, joy and unity of our class so that we shall never forget ... or be forgotten!
