II, Ng, 4 0HARLIE'S AllNT MAKES A BIG HIT Our last issue just missed com- ments and statistics on first se- mester grades, consequently our comment now is a bit outmoded. Nevertheless, after much sweaty and tears here we go with somel astonishing facts. The final results show the Seniors and Sophs tied for over-all honors with 27M ofl the total honors each. The Jun- iaors ran a close third with 264M,. The Frosh. ending up in last place, did themselves up respectfully with 20'M,. When we get specific it can be, seen that the Seniors are in fori All or Nothing at All! Thats right-of their total of 125 honor 1 points, they earned 75 of them on, the High Honors. On the other! hand, the Sophs messed with Mr.l In-between! since they got their 125 points from the Honors brac-X ket. Not one Soph placed on thel High Honors. The Juniors spread, out their egorfs and garnered 120 Doints from all three Rolls. The Frosh. true to form. started out slow but gained speed as the year progressed. They ended up with 105 points, most of which were gained on the Honors or else on the Honorable Mention. A box score reveals the follow- ing: Total H.H. BUNNY HOP EASTER MONDAY Sludenls Respond To An Appeal On the occasion of the regular First Friday devotions for Feb- ruary 2, we were honored to have Father James MacCauley C.S.C. to offer Benediction and give us a talk. Having spent eight years as a missionary in Bengal, India, Father MacCauley is familiar with native customs and problems, as well as the work which the priests and Brothers are doing. He gave us a vivid picture of the diiiiiculties which are encountered there, especially in these war times, when dangers are multiplied. At the particular mission where Father MacCauley was in charge, there were 40 native boys in the Apostolic School in addition to 20 more in the Little Seminary. The problems of the missionary are many, and one of those prob- lems confronting our particular missionary was ably and willingly' SLEEPY MILLER BAND SHAPING UP S0 DUES THE BAND 'AND GLEE GLUE! On the nights of Sunday and Monday, February 11, and 12th, Charlie's Aunt, a comedy in three acts, was presented jointly by the students of Central Catholic and St. Joseph Academy, at St. Pat- rick's Hall. A .sellout crowd of approximately 1,200 persons saw the play. Last November, Brother Jareth, Dramatics Director at Central Catholic, began hauling out books of rlavs and stage tcchnicalities. He had to have a student produc- tion ready before the Lenten Seas- on of 1945. Putting on a play is a mean job. but circumstances arr- gravated the situation. However, plans gradually shaped un.
