MTHE TRAIL? A CALENDAR AUGUST. Summer friendships at their height. VaC21ti0l'l days hit the home stretch. School-phobia develops. That last precious week as school looms in- to view. SEPTEMBER. First Friday and more reminders of school. Labor Day: nightmares dominated by irate teachers and flying books. 10th of September, Black Friday, and en- rollment. Blue Monday: first day of schoolg end of the world for some. 17th marks the end of the first week of agony softened by new and old friends. Work has begun like nobody's business. Brother Hyacinth, C. S. C.. our Franklin D. outlined his recovery act. and there was no Congress to block him ttsk. tskl. First Senior class meeting: electi-on of Joe Toth as class president. X marks the birth of the S. A. C. Tribune and News Times correspondents named. Brother Andrew, C. S. C.. a missionary Brother -of Holy Cross. lectures on India. the dream of Dhil0SODhE-rs. or is it a hang--over. A lottery drive to help athletic fund begins and ends the month. Grand prize e- season tickets to N. D. home football games. OCTOBER. First Friday - Central Catholic clears its conscience. Newcomer leaves press as a monthly, Our library is swelled by a contribution. My, My, but that library has grown since it has left the Sophomore room, The Marionette Show fPuppets to you! makes a hit at CCHS. Central Catholic and St. Joseph's Academy reach out and clasp hands. Seniors entertain tcupid was very active! St. Joe Seniors. Skating parties become a vogue. Six weeks Exams have shaken many a boy's confidence in life - and so have failures. NOVEMBER. Seniors, after heated discussions. and a lot of help, adopt a class ring. 14th marks the debut of CCHS in the Arrival of Kitty: no Hollywood offers have come so far. Seniors begin to dream of a Monogram dance. St. Joseph's Seniors return compliments to our handsome and strapping seniors. Juniors shock school by electing class of- ficers. after weeks of silence. Mr. Thomas P. Neill, a post-graduate at N. THE TRAIL of REMINISCEN CES. D.. gets an enthusiastic turnout for his speech classes. Art also comes to CCHS. The PD, alias the SAC. has a shakedown. It gets new appointees and its membership is in- creased as several officers are retired. Thanksgiving and Castor-oil. DECEMBER. Exams, sweet, sweet exams! h-ow do we ever get through them? Mothers' Club under Mrs, P. Paden comes to the front in activities. Joe Toth, Senior class president. wins anti- TB contest held under auspices of the speech club. SAC holds a skating party. Philip Foxwell, the magician - rabbits and eggs. Snow Xmas and Vacation. 17th of December and all is quiet on the School Front. Merry Christmas HaDDY New Year . . . JANUARY. 3rd ends the glorious interlude . Some Vacation. Seniors flash class rings. Mr, Neill is whipping together a debate 'tenm. Such arguments! Mr. Louis Szabo perplcxes his Health Classes by requiring health posters or else -. Manv a person's artistic illusions have been shattered after a glance at them. Brother Canisius returns to us-Thank Gotl- NVe thought he had died. Seniors press Monogram Dance 018115- The Davies Light Opera Company thrills CHS with operettas. 22nd and Monogram Dance are SYDOYWIIIOUS- Stew-dents dance to Red Maxfield's rhythms. Such dreams!
