TEACHING CATECHISM in the parishes throughout the Pitts- burgh area that cannot accommodate all possible students in their parochial schools falls within the works of the A.D.C. Here iunior Frank McAnulty, under the direction of Brother Maurice, demonstrates a catechetical technique. 1 UNSUNG HERO, Leroy DiPietro conscientiously performs his regular task of replenishing the holy water fonts throughout the school. Besides this particular chore, the A.D.C. directs religious activities throughout the year that vary from teaching catechism to outdoor devotions. GATHERED in the Brothers' Chapel, the members of the religious activities that function in the school include the Archconfraternity of the Divine Child, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Benilde Club, and the St. John Vianney Society. The latter two organizations are designed primarily as vocation clubs.

Begin .... Scientific Observations . . . OFFICIALLY, science begins for Central students with the biology classes of the sophomore year. Yet, alert students are instinctively aware of the myriad things that comprise the universe, and they try to discover the relations between them. Thus, scientihc study, in an effort to simplify and unify the diversity in nature, begins before the individual sciences formally attempt to make this world compre- hensible. It is, therefore, the solid earth that is the basis of geophysical science. Here we penetrate that earth through our classes and activities.
