THE MOST REVERENDCOLEMAN F. CARROLL, D.D., Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Pittsburgh and Pastor of Sacred Heart Church, has continued his pastoral interest in Central especially through the many boys sent here from His Excellency's own Sacred Heart parish. Through his own parish high school, Bishop Carroll again this year has ioined us in many of our school activities. F om Walchtowe .9 THE MOST REVEREND JOHN F. DEARDEN, S.T.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, has been unceasing in his interest in Central Catholic and his generosity toward all the school has aspired to. What the students of Central Catholic remem- ber Bishop Dearden for most, however, is his tireless solici- tude for our spiritual welfare. IT IS WITH particular complacency that we recognize FATHER JOHN B. McDOWELL, Ph.D., for within the past school year Father McDowell has been elevated to the Superintendency of Pittsburgh Catholic Schools. A graduate of Central Catholic himself, Father McDowell has the invaluable Ieaven of personal experience 'to bring to the understanding of everything that is Central. ,.rf? A 2P2if..

imed in ernitq BROTHER F. ALOYSIUS, Vice-Principal. Teacher and former Freshman Prefect here at Central, Brother Aloysius this year assumed the office of Vice- Principal. The intricacies of the school roster, the numerous school slips and forms, and, in coopera- tion with Brother Vincent, the general supervision of the school, form the bulk of Brother's duties. BROTHER FREDERICK JOHN, Student Counselor, Sophomore Religion. Because of the increasing demands for a full-time Student Counselor, this year Brother John relinquished his posi- tion as Vice-Principal to assume the large task ol that of principal Student Counselor for over eighteen hundred boys. Brother's under- standing, helpful manner has been invaluable to all who have sought his aid. BROTHER GILES VINCENT, Principal. Because our class started Central in the first year of the administration of Brother Vincent, we feel in some way that much of the progress ihat we and Central have experienced during these four years has been because of the constant efforts of Brother Vincent to direct us toward Christian manhood. BROTHER E. LEO, Prefect of Discipline . . . The full time task of supervising seeing of the cafeteria the handling of absence, assumed by Brother E, during our other years school discipline, the over- during lunch periods, and detentions have been ably Leo this year, as well as at Central. BROTHER G. WILLIAM, Freshman Prefect, Al- gebra l . . . The challenging work of develop- ing freshmen in the ways of Central Catholic has been capably handled this year by the veteran teacher of classical languages, Brother G. William. Besides the duties of Freshman Prelect, Brother William supervised Freshman detentions and annealed the first year men in the intricacies of algebra.
