Uhr Mnttnr Sanur Heins While looking ovez some old books and magazines in June 1934 I happened to see a Mentor bearing the date 1924 I laid all other things aside and quickly read it from cover to cover as this was the book pub lished by my class the famous class of 24 I enjoyed the following as they were at last but not least happy times spent at St Catherlne s by the Class of 24 The Class of 24 was the sh1n1ng light of St Catherlne s during the term 23 24 Retuining to school in September as d1g1n1fied Seniors we received all honor and respect from the lower classes During the year we have certainly missed two of our former class mates Andrew Gleason who departed for Johnstown the latter part of last year and Mary Speice who left for Erie in the early part of October We miss them especially in the class room and only hope that in the near future they may be with us once mole before we leave St Catherine s The first thing of importance was the literary we held to entertain the Juniors Needless to say it was excellent A short time later we followed a populal custom but 1nstead of Ladies Night we held Mothei s Day A very pleasing program was given to our Mothers after which they viewed the High School Nothing exciting or thrilling happened until our annual fudge party which was held ln the I ab None of us suffered as a result of the candy as Jo busied herself analyzing the ingredients We are kind enough to give the Juniors some candy tafter we had all we wantedj and then invited them to dance They accepted the invitation and we enioyed ourselves as pianist Soon again vse proved the Seniors are loyal entertainers by holding a St Pat11ck s piogram fol the Sth glade lin eu one seemed to be awaie ot the fact Seniors have the preference and at different mteixals we were entertained the most lmportant being the literaries given by the J uniors 7th and 8th grades Of course it IS generally known the success of foot ball was due to the Seniors The Captain and two stars going from oui class And talking of foot ball the Senior guls enteitained the squad at a very enloy able party The boys declare they never had such eats We believe it as that s Just one of the many things we are noted for A cake walk was held and the delicious cake was mon by Lawrence Schalk and Francis Higgins they were very generous and shared it with the rest of us The class held a cake sale the day befoie Th3IlkSg1W ing at which a xeiy good sum was realized CCake baking is another of our specialtlesl We are lookmg forward to the Reception in June wlth gi eat enthus iasm we know fl om experience the Juniols are first class entertainers The Senior Class extends their sincere sympathy to PIEIIICIS Kelly on the death ot his Fathei 69 O .
