Uhr ilrntnr Sophomore Cyosszp Clang' clang' sounded the bell and the train glided from the St3.tlOl1 Slowly at first but graduallv gaining speed until there remained to the observers ey e but a falnt trall of smoke ln the dlstance I wish I had some one to talk to Sald V1rg1n1a Harris an all day Journey and no one to converse with but myself Well It can t be helped she concluded wlth a Slgh Having arranged her luggage to her l1k1ng she picked up a book and began to read Suddenly a pair of arms was thrown around her and she turned to behold her old schoolmate Marle Carrier After the usual preliminary ejucalatlons embraces and questions the girls settled down to as V1Fg'lHl3. called It An honest to goodness talk But V1rg1n1a said Marie reproachfully none of the glrls have written to me lately consequently I know nothing of what has taken place during the past school year in the good old Sophomore Class This was exactly the opening that Vlfglnla deslred Well if you ll promise not to interrupt me even once Ill tell you everything that has happened since September Marie acqulced cheerfully and V1rg1n1a at once began the tale Well lets see whats first Oh yes' We organlzed our Literary wonderful' Im certam that there IS more real talent 1n our room than in any other in S C H S We ve had two debates and would you belleve It the negatlve side won each time Whlle speaking about our Llterary Society I d llke to tell you but I won t have time about the unexpected ability displayed by every member of our twenty five in the art of slnglng elocutlon and musical aptness But I m afrald that there won t be time enough for detalls I suppose you know that Tommy Vallely resigned his position as Secretary It IS now being capably filled by the newly elected Secretary Kathryn Kelly One of the greatest events 1n our School year was the bazaar held by the K of C IH November The Sophomore Class as usual stepped to the front and ably supervised the candx booth for two nlghts Oh what a wonderful time we had' Marie forgettmg her promlse Sald Didnt you have any part1es Indeed we did Why two weeks after school began we had a weiner roast at Mlldred Swack s Then we had a party at Genevleve Maloney s and one at Gleason s Even the boy s surprlsed us by havmg two parties one at Patrlck Johnson s and one at George Shugart s But to tell the truth Marie these were but prellmlnarles to the real thlng a double party at the Murphx home in honor of Geraldine and Mlldred Mar1or1e Rensel later in the 5831 staged a large affalr Oh' dont fear we ve had enough parties I 63 Y ' . r . .
