The math students of CC successfully participated in two Math Field Day Contests this year. They were held at Creighton and Wayne colleges. At the Creighton Contest a team of five students won 1st among Class B schools. The five: David Bracht, Glen See-man, Art Meister, Sue Peatrow-sky, and Coleen Goeden. The combined scores of the five students won the Creighton Math Field Day 1977 plaque. At Wayne State College, Glen Seeman won first place in the Senior Math, Jeff Fagot 3rd place in the Junior Math. Other participants were: Art Meister, Jean Langhorst, Coleen Goeden, Sue Langhorst, and Mike Tobey. Not only am I the worst behaved kid in school, I have perfect attendance! The only competition worthy of a wise man is with himself. I wasn't cheating, just looking to see If he had mine right! When I stop to think, I forget to start again. 19 See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, have no fun. For science, thinking begins with a problem. For juvenile delinquency a problem begins with a thought. The way things are going, it won’t be long until you will need a college degree to get into high school! Pocket veto-deodrant for the traveling man. 24 cfUfficTS At an art contest one judge pointed out an art object on the shelf and said that this piece of art was worthy of an award. As he was about to finalize his decision bv placing a 1st place on this masterpiece, the janitor came and said Sir, that’s the electric fan. There’s no sense in advertising your troubles-there’s no market for them! Someday I’ll be a Star!?!? I’ve never had so much attention. The primary function of art is to deliver a message to the soul of man. Expression in a world outside her own. 25 26 This year a team of ten members participated in the annual Creighton Math Field Day. The senior class practiced for these two events throughout their last week of school. At the baccalaureate service the band played Pomp and Circumstance as the seniors marched in. Honor awards were then handed out to the deserving students and Janice Batenhorst, president of the senior class, presented the school with a gift of money to be used in the business department. Fr. Godfrey Meiergerd showed his gratitude through an acceptance speech. Valedictorian, Susie Steuter and Salutatorian, Michelle Emesti gave their honor addresses to highlight the evening services and the seniors marched out anxiously awaiting their graduation. 83 84 dR SR PRQM The 1977 Jr.-Sr. Prom was held on Friday, April 22 in the G.A. auditorium. The juniors worked hard all week to make the prom a success, and it was. The gym was decorated brightly with maroon and pink streamers and featured such as; a heart-shaped entrance, a wishing well, and a bandshell display of the theme, “Searching”. Casper provided the music. This year’s prom was deeply appreciated and enjoyed by many. It was, and always will be, a beautiful memory to hold in the hearts of many juniors and seniors. 85 i ilwjliefrd U the I Hey Lee.
