Teachers of the advanced classes also reported that their classes were ahead of schedule due to the introduction of the calculator in school work. j ' Round-up time BUSINESS The business department at C.C. is usually efficient, but mistakes do happen. Like the time Larry was “only” $50,000 short in his accounting. Or the time Bill got caught with a friend's book during a test, thanks to his mom. And then there is that faultless typing class where Art Meister puts keys in backwards. All of Mr. Brown’s classes work hard, but an occasional game of Name That Tune on the typewriters never hurts. Students aren’t the only ones making mistakes though. Mr. Brown might be the first to enroll in a refresher course on how to run a calculator. Linda, smile and act like you know what you’re doing. Ann works hard in secretarial practice. 1 J. O 'I. Five C.C. students participating in the 1976 Creighton Math field-day achieved first place for the school. Winning individual awards were Alice Stalp and Art Meister for first place in the leap-frog contest. Mark Baumert received a third place plaque for his chalk talk, and Glen Seeman placed third in the Madhatter race. Doris Hagedorn, the fifth member of the “A” team placed fourth in the Senior division of the Madhatter. Central has participated in the Creighton field-day for six years. Sponsors this year were Sr. Antonita, Sr. Celesta and Mrs. Marlene Knobbe. The “B” team included Larry Schueth, Russ Herman, Sharon Emanuel, Ruth Baumert and David Bracht. The firecrackers added only a small portion of the “working noises” found in the shop room.
