HI TORICAL MASSACHUSETT . , ,, , It is the tendency of teen-agers to con- stantly look forward to the future. This inclination was epitomiied by the theme of last year's Florentian, progress. This year, 1959, the Florentian regresses and reminisces upon the happenings of years ago, the treasures of the past. Massachusetts is a state unusually rich in such an historical heritage. From the warm friendliness of the village green and the cold austerity of the Puritan meeting house to the awesome magni- ficence of breakers crashing upon the beaches of Cape Cod and the colorful radiance of the Mohawk Trail in the autumn, the fascinating air of history permeates our environment.
