i. W1 'ivlfiigy .1260-Malay. ffiagg Brother Lawrence Joseph As seen from the picture on this page there was no scarcity of willing workers among the student body. All of these boys very kindly offered their time, some of them before scool in the morning and others took charge of the library after school hours in the afternoon. Their coopera- tion and helpfulness is greatly appreciated. From an annual fund of 33300, we added a number of desirable books and through the kindness of some of the boys we received others. XVe are grateful also of a gift of a fine set of the Encyclopedia Britannica. The expansion program made possible by the l.V.l.ClT101'l2ll Building Drive will no doubt include provisions for a library. A bigger and better libra- ry may be expected in the near future. McMahon XVith the long range view of doing something tangible about the need of the school for a new gynlnasium-classroom building, Brother Nilus last year reorganized the Men's League at Central Catholic. Gathering a group of men who were the nucleus of the newly organized body, he grad- ually formulated plans which blossomed into fruition this year, Elected to the presidency for the year 1947 was Dr. Philip McMahon. Every activity undertaken by the League during the year pointed for the big job which began in the last month of the school year, the Building Fund Drive. Through an unbelievable amount of sac- rifice, and unstinting devoted and difficult work this project was carried to a successful conclu- sion. To the lNlen's League in particular and to all workers who took part in the Drive, the school expresses a thousand thanks ...... yes, a hun- dred and fifty thousand thanks! 117
