Theodore's chief task is to coordinate the many activities designed to prepare us for life. He interprets for teachers and students the blueprint of Christian Education. The task of administering a modern high school is a complicated one. For maximum efficiency, therefore, it is necessary to allocate the varied work to individual departments. These departments, guided by specialists, fit their activity into the mosaic of the master plan. BRO. EDWARD DUNNE As vice-principal Bro. Dunne assists Bro. Theodore in his administrative work. ln addition to this through his teaching and coaching he establishes a closer tie between the adminis- tration and the student body. REV. HERBERT PIEPER As chaplain Father Pieper is responsible for initiating and coordinating the religious activities at Central Catholic. We remember particularly his pointed talks on First Fridays and at general assemblies urging frequent use of the Sacraments and daily prayer. .li .nw ' 'j f.nr Wm 'ZI4 Besides the thankless task of checking absence and tardi- ness Bro. WILLIAM JOSEPH CHAMINADE BLUEPRINTS FROM THE PAST A challenge, an ideal, is the spark that ignites every young man's achievement. The inspiring life of Father William Joseph Chaminade is that challenge for modern youth. For over a hundred years the Founder of the Society of Mary has pleaded for every form of Catholic Action, has begged for the open expression of deep faith to offset increasing secularism, has placed unbounded hope in the power of the Mother of God to save mankind in this hour. To know Father Chaminade is to show youth a way-the way to its greatest test and fulfillment. On January l7, in preparation tor thc feast of Fcthcr Chaminadc, members ct Grade BC, under the direction at Bro. Nacger, presented a radio play depicting the life cf the nneteenth-century Apostle ot Mary, Participants were as follows lleft to rightl: Glen Haddock, as Antoine, John Kraus, as The Doctor, Vincent Narciso, as Monsieur Pierre Duval, Ferdinand Appelt, as Father Chaminade, Richard Mendoza, as John Lalanneg Onufry Kiolbassa, as Francois, Wilford Pickard, as The Poli:emang Ernest Chavana, os Barleau, Thomas Cox, announcer, cnd John Hitzteld, as Carrot. x,Qg,,'f'gQf' ' Z -7 ff, F7 :- 2. ul :- -. 5 5 2 Y r. : r.. mug uogurz Holm . Principally it is designed to reccrd past events and to announce future activities. The Pep also recognizes the efforts of those engaged in such programs and arouses interest in them. More than that, however, The Pep's editorials serve to acquaint the students with Christian principles, to foster school spirit and greater intellectual activity. The school paper has presented this year fresh and vivid accounts of the various sporting events. Chief among these was the play-by-play account of the Jefferson game, which appeared less than eighteen hours after the final gun. Senior members of the staff: T. Pape, G, Metzger, L. Frazier, and W.
