I TO THE GRADUATES: Your preparation for the future is not completed by your graduation - your whole life is a preparation. No high school training should be an end in itself. A diploma is worth iust as much as you put into earning it. High school days should be stepping stones to greater development, to fuller living. The extent to which you live a fuller life will depend increasingly more on yourself and less on others. The clarity of your ideal, the tenacity with which you hold to your principles, the assiduous cultivation of good habits will build in you a strong, good character which in turn will assure you of success. Your responsibilities now are greater than last year, than four years ago, they will continue to grow. You have had exceptional opportunities, and now your Church, your Country, the world at large looks to you for future leadership. Fair play, social iustice, charity depend on you to throw your full weight on the side of God- and those who work for the betterment ofa strife-stricken world. Keep close to God through your religion. One of the habits which should be part of you as a Catholic young man is weekly contact with your Guide, Christ in the Eucharist, and a daily prayer to Mary, your Mother.
