LARRY ' S SPEECH AT BACCALAUREATE The Baccalaureate Mass and Dinner, sponsored by the CC Mothers ' Club, was held May 31, in honor of the 1972 grad- uating seniors. The evening started with the 4:30 Mass at the Cathedral. The last 199 students to graduate from Central Catholic walked fronn CC to the Cathedral in their purple and gold gowns. The Mass was concele- broted by Father Tellers, Father Reginald, Father Hammond, Father Tirobassi, Mon- signor Durken, Monsignor Conroy, and Father Seculoff. Mr. Woods provided the music on the organ. The Baccalaureate Dinner was held at the Lantern immediately following the Mass. Students and their parents enjoyed a smorgasbord-style dinner. After the din- ner, Mrs. Glenn Miller, president of the Mothers ' Club, congratulated the graduat- ing class and introduced the speakers. Larry Budenz, class president, brought back many memories with his speech. Following Larry ' s speech was Father Tellers with his Charlie Brown story. The Most Reverend Bishop Leo A. Pursley, after making an un- expected appearance, also congratulated the senior class. Auxiliary Bishop Joseph R. Crowley concluded the evening with the Baccalaureate address. Father Tellers offers the Baccalaureate Mass for the graduating seniors. Above- Below- -Bill Manijack, Kevin Marqucrdt and Tom Nolan eat with Dr. and Mrs. Nolan. -The senior men stand for the gospel at the Baccalaureate Mass. 2B

C Cs LA8T GRADUATE8 Graduation Commencement for the last graduating class from C.C. was held on June 4th, 1972, at 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial Coliseum. At the request of the last graduating class of CC, the seniors wore purple and gold gowns. The senior men were clad in purple and the girls in gold. After the class of 72 marched in, Father Reg- inald introduced Tom Felts who then gave his Salu- tatorian speech. The Honorable Mayor Ivan Lebamoff delivered the graduation address. Following his ad- Above — Father Conroy presents the John Levicki Award to Mike Simone. Right — Graduating Seniors walk together for the last time. Below — Mayor Lebamoff addresses the graduates. dress the seniors received their diplomas and various awards and scholarships. The John Levicki Award was presented to Mike Simone by Father Conroy of the Sunday Visitor. Then Co-Valedictorion Becky Banasiak gave her speech. Karen Beck concluded the commencement ceremonies with her Valedictorian speech. For the last time the seniors of the class of 72 marched out together to the CC Fight Song. 30
