0acA 'l' eam 'l' lairif I Cicamlad No one will deny that Fordy Anderson, with the very capable assistance of Bill Hicks and Ed Cobbett, did a remarkable job this year in taking the City Champion- ship despite a real epidemic of iniuries. The coaches molded the boys into an impressive team that the school can be pround of. This was Mr. Cobett's first year at C.C., he assisted with the football and basketball program in addition to his duties as head track coach. He was well liked and aided greatly in building up the team spirit. This looked like the year for the Anderson brigade. The quality of the material was unmistakable until a number of iniuries dimmed our hopes. The coaches had good material to work with and obtained the best from the boys. The squad seemed to follow the splendid example of co-captains Jerry Moore and Bob Arnold as well as the six players nominated to the all City aggregation. The team played what could be easily termed a suicide schedule. Team spirit was evidenced in every game. Father Lester as athletic director demonstrated a great interest in the team, recognizing that athletics at C.C. are an important part of our education, and that inter-scholastic competition can be a large factor in character building. The coaching staFf faces a mammoth task of rebuilding, since lO of this year's ll starters were seniors. However, with a carry-over of this year's team spirit, and continued fine coaching, the squad will always be a credit to the school. lOO
