2 GLEE III. B Four years ago the Music Department launched a new musical venture. the Glee Club. For weeks Sister Mary Huberta conducted an extensive search for talent, testing every students voice. selecting the best. and training toward perfection. Our Clee Club then made its debut in May. 1941. at a concert. Since that time we have enjoyed its welcome presence at pep sessions. assemblies. Christmas programs, and the like. This year C. C. will graduate the last of the Clee Club's charter members. With it from its inception. these Seniors have sacrificed to establish firmly the Glee Club at C. C. Manx' dropped out some- where along the way into the easier pathg but some. true to the tradition of C. C., displayed the same sleadfastness which they hope to see in their successors. X. Father Miller When Father Miller lifts his baton, everyone knows what will happen. ln a moment good music will fill the gym. This is a certainty that symbolizes our trust in Father lVliller's ability. We have learned to understand his capability as director of the Band and Orchestra. We'd like to say, uThank you, Father. Yotfve done a wonderful job. They're great and we're proud of them-and youfa jareweff, Senior ganzldmen The directors and hand members in a way dread graduation day. lt will mean the loss of many veteran band members who will be hard to replace. This year the Band loses: Rita Fox, Fritzie Herber. Neuer, Joellen Shanley, and Jim Vachon. THE TWIHLEH5 Another first with the class of M411-li is the baton twirling corps. From the time of its establishment in G'4l',, it has improved rapidly. Dressed in white satin uniforms, the girls appeared frequently at bas- ketball games. Everyone enjoyed their performances immensely. At Christmas they took part in the annual Christmas program. Between the halves of basketball games this year Paul Ueber provided entertainment. 'cAn old hand at that sort of thingfl Paul literally brought the house down on numerous occasions with his rafter-throwing antics. Paul is a senior and has been twirling for four years. The twirling field offers unlimited opportunities to newcomers. In all probability the dawning of future years shall find an excellent and en- larged group of twirlers at C. C. It is our fervent hope that the corps. in which some of us are charter members. may survive through the years and become another traditional C. C. source of pride. TWIRLERS flefl to right! M.
