enior , gfau .Mlnforg Femine Eye Observed It Thus: To quote our own Freshman Class song we were Hraring, tearing. and lull ot lite and pep. This was ably demonstrated when almost im- mediately we became active lwlission workers and contributed our share ot melody to the Glee Club. while a large percentage ot the class received honor letters and athletic monograms during our tirst year ol high school. Alter our initiation as Freshmen. which was a fairly mild one. we settled down to work with a giggle. The Sodality received us ceremoniously with ixflass and Holy Communion. which was followed by a breakfast in our honor. Late ixtay found the Eighth Graders ol' the city contendedly munching our carefully prepared delicacies. while the members ot the sewing class modelled samples ot their expert needlework. A class ot Seniors waved farewell and we moved up a notch to become the mighty Sophomores. Little time elapsed before we rolled up our sleeves and officially Hwelcomedu the Freshmen. in Feb- ruary they responded with a lovely party in Valen- tine appointments. The year passed without turther social functions. but basketball and swimming kept us busy. U September, rolled around again and since the new school was nearly completed we began our third year with a thrill of expectancy. A very successful skating party provided ample funds tor our Junior-Senior Banquet in November. December 23rd marked the close ot our academy days and the historic bell toiled our teartul good- byes. as we reluctantly turned the page on a chapter ot' our lives that shall otten come tioating back as the dearest of memories. Alter Christmas vacation we stepped wonder- ingly into a new school. It had no history nor any scratches on the desks. but we were there to make theml it seemed no time at all until we donned our frills and were whisked ollt to the Prom where midst tiowers and sott music our third year came to a close. Having proudly assumed our position as the ndignitied Seniors we lost no time in electing class otticers. The crevices in the class treasury were somewhat titled by a skating party in the early Fall. Qur Victory Dance was in no way a toolhardy venture despite the t-act that it was held on April lst: we came through, as did the team we honored. with Htiying colors. Later in April we took otf our coats and began practice for the Senior Play. Hshirt Sleeves. along with preparations tor the Prom, So now, with a lump in the throat we stand on the threshold of lite and bid goodbye to the school that we have come to love so much. Btoreover, it we retain its Catholic beliefs and ideals we may be sure that the Hchrist ot Lewis Street will guide us safely through our lives. FIARY HOGiXN Page 1
