Another nine-month sea voyage is completed by the Crusaders of Central Catholic High as the Mans Stella, guided by the Star of the Sea, sails majestically toward the shore. As the 1959 Crusader takes its place among the annals of our Alma Mater, we hope that its pages may recall and remind each Centralite that the vigilant beacon. Star of the Sea, from her Watchtower, lights the way as he continues to journey toward the Eternal Shores.

His Excellency The Most Rev. John L. Paschang Bishop of Grand Island Dear Students of Central Catholic High: Those of us who are famihar with the revelations made by our Blessed Lady to Saint Berna ' dette of Lourdes a century ago, and in more recent times to the pious children of Fatima can hardly escape the conviction that Mary is most anxious that we should adopt the practice of consecrating ourselves to her frequently, yea even daily. Since you have chosen Mary, Star of the Sea, as the theme of your current year book, The Crusader, and in keeping with the wishes of our Blessed Mother, allow me to suggest a little prayer whereby you may dedicate yourselves to her, the Stella Maris. This prayer has a noble history, although I suspect it is not too well known. It is touching in its simplicity. May I express the hope that many who may scan The Crusader will be moved to incorporate this act of dedication into their daily devotions. O Mary, Mother of the Incarnate Word and our sweetest Mother, we are here at thy feet as a new day arises — another great gift of the LxDrd. We place in thy hands and in thy heart our whole being. We will be thine in will, in thought, in heart, and in body. Do thou with motherly kindness form in us this day a new life, the hfe of thy Jesus. Direct and accompany, O Queen of Heaven, even our least actions with thy motherly inspiration, so that all may be pure and acceptable at the moment of the Holy and Immaculate Sacrifice. Make us holy, O Good Mother, holy as Jesus has commanded us and as thy Heart asks and so ardently desires. Amen. Yours in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Star of the Sea,
