K W 66 herish the Moments of a Lasting Cause' was chosen as the theme for the annual l986 Afro-American Ball, held at the Meadowbrook Hall on February 22, l986. Courts from Bowsher, Devilbiss, Libbey, Macomber, Scott, Start, St. Ursula, McAuley, Woodward and Central Catholic were acknowledged. They were chosen by the members of their own Afro-American Clubs. The criteria for candidacy included active participation in the club, good academic standing and financial contributions to club activities. As the court members were announced, photographers flashed continuously. Central Catholic's Queen, Senior Jeanine Loper, and Senior King Chris Lockett, followed by their attendants, walked down the aisle attired in red gowns with their escorts handsomely suited in black tuxedoes. This year's Ball was at its best ever, because of the new decorating and remodeling of the hall. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and were very responsible and respectful toward each court that was being announcedf said Senior Queen Jeanine Loper. Central atholic Student Leaders n April 30, the students of Central Catholic chose their student leaders for the upcoming school year. This year the seniors participated in the Student Council voting process to once again show how much Central Catholic will be a part of them even after they are gone. The Student Council is a group of students who act as a liason between the classes and administration. They plan many activities such as workshops, dances, sales, pep rallies, and assemblies. This past yearis Student Council officers were President jim Blust, Vice President Amy Williams, Secretary Connie Rosa, and Treasurer Sue Lenkay. These people along with their commissioners and advisor, Ms. Scheiber, contributed to the Summer Leadership Workshop, the Participation!Leadership Workshop, Homecoming, Superfella activities, and numerous pep rallies and assemblies. The Student Council officers for next year will be President Kevin Murnen, Vice President jeffjump, Secretary Anna Francis, and Treasurer Michelle Murawski. When asked about the results of election day Senior Amy Williams said, Everyone is ready for new leadership and these people can do it! - Diane Bogdanski A GREAT LEADERSHIP. his year's annual Christmas show was held at Lourdes College in Sylvania, Ohio on December 14 and 15 at Spm. The students involved practiced long hours for weeks in order to perform for their many audiences. Each person added a special uniqueness to the year's theme. The Christmas show held a special mean- ing: that spirit and joy of Christmas is a year- round feeling and everyone should share triumphs and sorrows. The scenes were child- oriented with special lessons for the Schrewg' ' to learn about himself and how to treat others. The messages were that giving is better than receiving, and friends are to be cherished forever. The Sounds of Christ- mas' ' will be remembered by all who partici- pated as an experience worth learning. - Kathy McGranahan :Sw , Counterclockwise: SHEER GRATITUDE.
