Teaching is also a learning experience for Mr. Roether, a student teacher from Bowling Green. Many hours are spent on the floor of the art room painting scenery and decorations for the Operetta and assemblies that come through the year. DRAFl'ING!23

Designs flow from creative students Silk screen process and other art methods are part of the course taught by Sr. Paula. Drafting students acquired many new skills from Mr. Bolbach. Through the skills taught by the Art and Drafting instructors, the creative ideas of the stu- dents were channeled through the media of pencil, pen and brush. From the little-known rooms in the basement came accurate drawings of the school's layout, masterpieces that exhibited in the annual spring art show, and scenery for the Operetta. L ' S Helping two of her Bachelor Living students Phil Varner and Paul Chud- Helping RaeAnn zinski is Sr. Martina, teacher of Home Ec, Bachelor Living and Family a new addition to the Living. Students of Bachelor Living course learned to sew ties like the one Kevin Martin is adjusting. Where would we be without Home Economics classes to prepare the future homemakers of America? In this department girls learn the skills of cook- ing, sewing and child care, and discuss topics such as nutrition and home safety. Not to be outdone by the weaker sex, the men of CCHS have estab- lished their independence in the Bachelor Living course. Other courses offered are fi- nancing, consumer education and cooking taught by Sr. Mar- tina, and sewing and child de- velopment taught by Sr. Grace. Without this worthwhile depart- ment tomorrow's home might be a disaster. 24 .pv- .i if: ffl' 5 .' gl 1-l ,,, . gi , N, 'int 73,5 3 ' .2 Prosecuting attorney Joe Rutkowski questions witness Debbie Amhrein, while presiding judge Peggy Halleron keep order in the courtQom during the trial in Mr. Rozanski's Gevernment c Government classes explore Social Studies isn't all lectures, notes and tests. For instance, Mr. Duwve's Government class toured the UAW building and glimpsed the Union offices, through the arrangement of Jeannie Large. Mr. Rozanski's Liberty and Law classes held mock trials with students play- ing hardnose criminals, at- torneys, and jurors. Mr. Rozanski's class also wen to a real court where student listened in on arraignments ani pleas. Other activities in th Social Studies Department ir clude guest speakers and film on topics like communism, fa: cism, and pollution.
