Friday The 13th Proves Lucky! Janice Hite Crowned Homecoming ueen Friday, October 13, proved to be anything but unlucky as spirited and anxious students witnessed an emotion-filled Homecoming at crowded Page Stadium. The student body voiced their choice by nominating Janice Hite as 1968 Homecoming Queen attended by Cathy Biggs, Carol Boyce, Patricia lVlcCarthy and Lynn McKinley. Nluch planning and detailed preparation went into making this event a memorable one as managers and loyal friends gathered at homes to make posters, badges, buttons and paper flowers for their favorite candidate. The cleverness of the campaign managers was displayed at the annual homecoming assembly. Poet laureate, John Wieck, aided by flower child, Ken Raszka gave unparalleled performances to demonstrate Jan's loveliness. A shocking visit by Frankenstein, alias Mike Wnorowski, terrorized the student body in order that Bob Braun might captivate them with CaroI's charms. Despite the traditional superstitions of the day, the Luck of the Irish held out as Central blasted the Bowsher Rebels, 27-8. Dramatists Stage GI Remember Mama' Page 14 This year's drama, I Remember Mama, was presented on November 10, 11, and 12, under the direction of Mr. Robert Stucker. The two-act production, related inflashbacks by Katrin, is about a Norwegian-American family in the early twentieth century. Mama Forbes lDiane Woytowichl is the central figure in the household who guides her family through all its troubles, while Papa Forbes lMichael Fitzpatrickl quietly submits to his wife's domineeringness. The four Forbes children Katrin iFrances Gerkenl, Dagmar lSharon Prekopl, Christine lPatricia Polcynl and Nels iDavid Kelleyl are completely modernized and at times shock their parents. Mama has three sisters and one brother who contribute some comedy to the play. Aunt Trina lMary Jane Demskil and Aunt Jenny lLois Menichettil are snoopy and hypocritical, while Aunt Sigrid lliathleen Wrightl is sweet, but not very intelligent. Uncle Chris lThomas Ouigleyl is a blustering, but kind-hearted person. Because of the many scenes provided for in the script, a multi-purpose stage was required. The stage crew worked many hours on the set of l Remember Mama, the most extensive technical show ever presented at Central. Florence Moorhead iTeresa Augellol tips young Arne lDavid Baileyl for carrying her luggage. A multi-purpose set was erected by the stage crew to accommodate the various scenes in the play.
