Page 18 Valedictorian Salutatorian Carol Chechak Holding the top scholastic average among the senior girls is Carol Che- chak, a member of St. Hedwig's Parish, with a 95.54 average. During her years at Central, Carol has participated in many extra- curricular activities. She was a mem- ber of the Biology Club, Latin Club, Math Club, FTA and Chemistry Club, and presently serves as an officer of the Girl's Athletic League. Ranking as an outstanding student, Carol is a member of the National Honor Society and the Monogram Club and has received several honors such as: a superior rating at the Science Fair Held at Toledo Univer- sity and an excellent at Bowling Green State University, an award for excellence in Latin and the Math Teacher's Award. Carol plans to enter the educa- tional iield where she will major in mathematics. James Liebherr James Liebherr, who has main- tained an average of 97.10, is a member of Good Shepherd Parish. As a Merit Scholarship finalist, he ranks among the top students throughout the country, is a candidate for a National Honor Society Scholarship and is a four year member of the Monogram Club. Athletics is one of Jim's major activities as his participation in the baseball, football and wrestling teams, including the 1962-63 State Championship football squad shows. As an all-around student, Jim be- longs to the St. John Berchmanis Society, is president of the Chem- istry Club, serves on Student Council and Student Court and was co-chair- man of the ticket staff for the school play. Among the honors Jim has received are awards for excellence in math, for an essay on the handicapped, for excellence in Latin and an Out- standing Engineering Award from the Elks Club. Jim is interested in mathematics and science and hopes to enter one of these fields after completing college.
