For the East and West, the North and South, Toledo, situated on a natural harbor in the center of the glass industry of the world, offers trade access to the Sea. While coal, machinery, grain and glass are sent out, other materials such as cheese, iron ore, gravel and petroleum come here and are transported by rail, plane or boat to all parts of the United States. In many ways Central, our Key to Catholic Co-education, resembles Toledo, our Key to the Sea. All goods brought to the Toledo harbor must be sorted and prepared for the correct port. Trained men andwomen carry on this Work under the supervision of the port authorities. Similarly, Centralis faculty, under the guidance of our principal, Monsignor Harrington, receives the students and prepares them for their place in the future of Toledo. As the many bridges over its river connect focal points in the city and enable adequate transportation of materials to the dock so do the students, who come from various sections of the city, link the Catholic parishes, the vital points of Catholic education, with Central. High in the office buildings, which cluster near the port the cityls master minds are planning and guiding the Work needed for the completion of our port to the Sea. At Central, in the classroom, the students are endeavoring to prepare them- selves to become useful educated men and Women in our city. On the huge loading docks, the machinery on the Waterfront must be strong and in order to stay that Way it must be kept in top Working condition. Youth must be strengthened for its part in life and the Sports program prescribes long hours of strenuous, body-building calisthenics to sustain the athlete's best form. As the networks of railroads, channeling goods from distant places and parts of the city, aid in building up the docks, so too, the many organizations at Central, offering participation and leadership in the extra-curricular activities help students in becoming better citizens. Proudly, We point to Toledo i'Key to the Sea and to its counterpart Central 6'Key to Catholic Co-education.
