For this reason Central maintains a four year course in English. Because this subject is a vital asset in the life of all students, it becomes one of the most important subjects in the school's curriculum. Its foundation, grammar and literature. is laid in the freshman and sophomore years. In addition to these. the juniors are taught the Hne points of a formal essay. plus an introduction to American literature to familiarize themselves with it.
