eniom VALEDICTORIAN Geraldine Nowak SALUTATORIAN Page 18 Gerald Willhauck As we look out upon the world, it almost seems too vast to step into. For four years we have been sheltered in an atmosphere of kind- ness and understanding. Now when we think our goal has finally been reached we find our- selves on the threshold of a beginning. What we have to look back upon appears so small com- pared to the path that lies ahead. There is no cherry welcome accompanying our entrance into the world -in fact, few people realize that we have graduated. Our success de- pends upon how well we adopt the knowledge that has been imparted to us by those valiant men and women who have given their lives that we might learn . . . and many of us have learned. We have discovered, through sciencf, the elements of life: through religion we have found life's meaning. We have explored the wonders of the world along with the problems of the day. A greater knowledge of our country, state and church coupled with a burning love for our Creator and His Blessed Mother have been instilled in us. We leave Central owing her an eternal debt of gratitude. We shall requite that debt by remaining honest and true Centralites-remem- beting and practicing all that we have learned. We are grateful for the golden days of our youth spent in her hallowed halls and departing we are filled with mixed feelings-for somehow, it seems, we're losing a friend. Farewell, Central!
