With an eye toward satisfying the growing demand for scientists, the Science Department now boasts a cathode ray oscilloscope, audi- oscillator, recording timer, and stratoscope. Science magazines and periodicals also aid this department to keep up with various im- portant scientific findings. The lunior Chemists' Club, under the spon- sorship ot the Reading Chemists' Club met monthly to tour local industries. A. Boland and B, Pomeroy accompanied by Sister lohn Catherine attended the Middle Atlantic Sci- ence Symposium held at Temple University, Philadelphia. A group ot seniors traveled to Villanova University to View the new science building. Climaxing the year lUO Centralites dis- played their projects in the school science fair held in late lanuary. Examining various projects on the Keystone State, I. Cimo- chowski, D. Damore, L. Gudz, H. Iones, and C. Grimm learn many interesting facts about Pennsylvania. Meet the experts! R. Mulligan, l. Hofmann, and P, Napiecek give the class a socialized .recitation on the glories of ancient Egypt. From primitive man and his surroundings to the atomic age and its problems-this vast scope of time is covered by Central's history program. Projects on ancient Egypt attracted annex freshmen. American and modern European history enthusiasts enjoyed several instructive films. Sponsored by the ACES, a field trip to Q cg' local industries gave seniors a close View of if the American competitive system in action. Debate preparation means research. I. Naso, I. Burrows, I.
